Introducing... our new Skin Blossom range
To celebrate the launch of our new skin care collection on braintreeclothing.com, we caught up with Cristina Beetham, owner of Skin Blossom, to discover more about the Skin Blossom mission, their fabulous products, as well as few beauty tips!
This is the first time we have launched skin care on braintreeclothing.com – can you tell us a little about your skin care range Skin Blossom and what makes it so great?
It’s great to be stocked at a fashion company, as I believe that good clothes and beauty products work together to make us look and feel fabulous. Our full range of skin and hair care is highly effective and contains all you need for a basic skin and hair care regime, and it is all certified by the Soil Association. This means that our products have been assessed to meet their very high organic health and beauty standards. Our range is also registered with the Vegan Society as we do not involve animals in our products. The range costs just £4.95 to £7.95 – which is brilliant value for such organic quality!
What made you interested in starting your own skin care brand?
I absolutely love organic beauty products, but found that they were always really pricey. I learnt how to make the products myself and founded Skin Blossom in 2007. Our mission is to make high quality organic skin and hair care that is affordable to all.
You use mostly organic ingredients in your products – why not 100% organic?
We formulate our products so that they contain as much organic ingredients as they possibly can. The type of products we make are creams and cleansers, and these products are impossible to make as 100% organic versions. This is because they require water to be in the ingredients. They also require binding agents to bind the product together, as well as preservative to ensure they are safe to use. The only products that are 100% organic are oils and balms. These are lovely, but they do not have all the properties needed for effective skin and hair cleansing and moisturising.
Have you always been interested in organic products?
Yes, this has been a passion of mine for many years. I like to live a natural lifestyle so using products with unnecessary chemicals in them just does not feel right.
And lastly, do you have any beauty tips for our readers?
My best tip is to keep your regime simple, as we don’t need hundreds of beauty products. The most important steps are cleansing and moisturising. Great skin and hair comes from a whole host of lifestyle choices – so keep hydrated, eat well, de-stress and exercise.
