Business as usual at Camden Lock!
Yesterday evening, 600 people were evacuated from Camden Town due to a fire in the Stables Market area – sending a giant cloud of black smoke high into the sky over London.
70 firefighters in 10 engines battled the blaze which is believed to have begun in a shop that had closed for the day. London Fire Brigade announced it had got the fire under control just before midnight and fortunately no-one was reported to have been hurt.
The Stables area remains closed today and it is unclear when it will re-open. Our thoughts are with the traders at Stables Market and all those affected by the fire in Camden.
We can confirm that Camden Lock Market was untouched by last night’s fire and that the Braintree store is open as usual. Thankfully, no one was hurt yesterday and we’d like to thank all the emergency services personnel for bringing the situation under control so quickly, they all did an amazing job!
