Thoughtful Gifts: Where to buy them
To help you spend less time looking for where to find eco, ethical or sustainable gifts this Christmas, we’ve rounded up a few of our favourite online shops. Other than Braintree of course! Here they are…
The Ethical Superstore
If you’re looking for a gift for a gardener, we particularly loved this Paper Potter from our friends at the Ethical Superstore. It helps you turn old newspapers into biodegradable seedling pots.
Green Tulip – Ethical Gifts
This lovely Star Cosmetic Purse (just one of Green Tulip’s Ethical Gifts) caught our eye and it’s handmade by a great fair-trade project in Vietnam. It’s a pretty way to add a little bit of velvety glamour to any handbag, while also supporting Vietnamese artisans.
Protect the planet – eco-friendly gifts
They’ll be tidy desks all round with this geometric desk tidy, which also rotates make it really easy to use. It’s made from sustainably sourced bamboo, just like our Thoughtful Clothing.
Hen and hammock
These colourful shoppers come in three sizes and are made in Thailand from old plastic straps. They are woven by hand and were originally made for the fish markets where their tough waterproof qualities make them ideal. There’s only a few left, so be quick!
This is one of our new favourite ethical homeware sites in the office! We definitely have these hanging copper frames on our Christmas wish list – especially as you can really make them your own with flowers, photos and more. They’re cleverly crafted by a fair trade project in India and use pretty, recycled sari fabric for the ribbon
We love this hand knitted, fair trade hat from Nepal, ideal for keeping little animal lovers warm and cosy on a cold winter’s day. It’s crafted with a cosy 100% wool top layer and fleece lining for comfort.
