Meet Laura; one of our designers who comes from a fashion family and has an eternal love of art, pattern and colour.

In-between things like sketching prints and choosing colours for us, we grabbed a moment with Laura to talk about our Autumn clothing collection. We also asked her to tell us which pieces she’ll be wearing on repeat. First, let’s hear a bit from her on where she found inspiration for the just-in collection

“Our two clothing stories for Autumn 16 reflect the unique beauty and atmosphere of our northern coastal landscape” – Laura

Nordic Seas

“This one plays on the connection our islands have with our Nordic neighbours; mixing Scandinavian design influences with traditional coastal patterns and the creativity of our own famous coastal artist communities.

Patterns blend painterly and evocative landscape prints together with modernist colour-block and traditional craft-tinged knits. Colours showcase the strong-but-soft blue and green tones of northern seas and high, wild moorlands.” – L

“Time to go even further north – to the Arctic lands of Tundra and wild open spaces. Sketchy wildflower and graphic hand-marked prints show the turn of the seasons. Fisherman stripes and strong Nordic knits bring together a subtle femininity that’s underpinned with a work-wear practicality. The mood continues in the colour fusion of soft pinks and greys, with seagoing navy and warm autumnal rust.” – L

1. Renberg Dress

“I love the easy styling and gorgeous warm-handled fabric of this tunic dress. The unique painterly style of the print, mixed with a harmonious colour palette makes it so easy to wear.

I’ll wear this alone with tights and boots, or layer over skinny jeans with a boyfriend cardigan once the days start to cool” – L

“This colour-blocked seabird knit is the perfect companion for staying warm as the season turns. The easy colours make it the perfect denim-friendly cover-up; it’s great for cosying up in an armchair in front of the fire. Reminds me of coastal walks and being out and about on a wild, windy day.” – L
