The world tells us to be mindful so much that achieving a heightened state of wellness can be a stress task in itself.  To keep things simple, we rounded up real, practical wellness tips straight from the mouths of the Thought Team.

1. Eat your fruit and vegetables

This week’s DINNER PARTY DISH. Yesterday I received a gorgeous *gift* from @daphneslondon of their new season blood oranges. I couldn’t resist making my blood orange radicchio salad. A great one for a dinner and takes about five minutes. Serves 4 | * 1 tsp whole coriander seeds * 2tbsp pomegranate molasses (I like @belazu_co ) * 4 tbsp olive oil * 1 tbsp cider vinegar * 2 blood oranges * 1 radicchio lettuce * small bunch of mint 1. Toast your coriander seeds in a dry frying pan for about 3 mins till toasted and fragrant. Cool then crush in a pestle and mortar. 2. Mix crushed seeds, pomegranate molasses, olive oil, cider vinegar. 3. Tear radicchio leaves into dish. Just before sitting down/serving toss in dressing. 4. Peel and chop oranges and dot around leaves. 5. Sprinkle with finely chopped mint.

The NHS reports that eating more fruit and vegetables can improve your overall mental health (as well as just being generally good for you). Feeling snacky in the office? Instead of reaching for the digestive biscuits, pick up a packet of sugar snap peas!

2. Get OOO

One of the best ways to maintain a balance mindset during the working hours is by getting out of the office. Getting fresh air by sitting in a park or just going for a walk around your local area will clear your mind ready for the rest of the day.

5. Sleep more

Getting a full night’s sleep is easier said than done, but regulating your sleep schedule ix one of the key ingredients to a stiff wellness cocktail.

6. Mediation

Develop your own version of workplace meditation. Bineural beats are a great method of drowning out any unwanted background noise when you’re getting down to work.

Put your bare feet on the ground at least once a week. Wellness coaches recommend doing this to reconnect with nature and quite literally ground ourselves.

9. Have a cuddle

A spouse, a friend, a pet! Hugging releases oxytocin and helps calm you down in times of stress.

10. Take a bath

Finishing off bathroom week with my favourite photo of my bathroom. It may not have performed the best on the grid (maybe not everyone loves a rustic hula hoop as much as I do) but it makes me happy so here it is! . Other things that make me happy are having my eldest son safely home from cub camp. The house may have been quieter and tidier whilst he was away and we may have saved £65 on our electricity bill through radically reduced X Box usage but god I missed him! . He has returned happy but looking like a child who had spent the weekend barefoot orienteering in a landfill site. He had also clearly elected not to poo whilst away and instead returned home to deposit (and not flush away) something the size of a small lap dog in our ensuite loo . Now cup of tea in hand counting down the minutes until season 3 of The Handmaid’s Tale starts on Channel 4. Who is watching?! .
