Get to know our #Bthoughtful contributors

We’re really excited to introduce seven friends of ours. Meet the bloggers who’ll be contributing regularly to #BTHOUGHTFUL.

Lou, Wendy, Aimee, Emma, Victoria, Kat & Lori share a little bit about themselves and what they do and we hope you’ll enjoy getting to know them over the coming months. Keep an eye out for their unique, interesting and often inspirational posts – we love having them on board and we hope you will to.

Meet Lou - Little Green Shed blogger

Lou
“Hello! My name is Lou Archell, I’m a freelance writer, creative consultant, photographer and I write the successful UK Lifestyle & Travel blog – Littlegreenshed. I live in the brilliantly independent and vibrant city of Bristol, with my partner Dan and my two sons Charlie and Rufus, oh and two rescue cats, Mimi and Obi. As a family we love to travel and are always on the hunt for the next wild adventure. When I’m not herding cats or looking for books, I love to garden and take walks in the woods.”

How would you describe your blog?

“Littlegreenshed is my life put into words and pictures. There you’ll find a heavy mix of nature, wild adventures, travel and interiors. Over the past six years of blogging my style has changed to include a variety of passions, just as life changes, so must my writing. You will always find honest, simple living with a huge dose of flowers.”

What does living thoughtfully mean to you?

“Living thoughtfully means to consider all aspects of life. How actions impact others or our environment around us. It is about understanding and respecting.”

Why did you get into blogging?

“I started blogging in 2010, after we took on an allotment plot. I wanted to document our journey in cultivating this scrappy piece of land, hence the name of the blog. But I soon realised that writing about vegetables all day bored me – so the blog grew into the lifestyle blog it is today. What do I love about it? EVERYTHING! It has changed my life. It is my passion, my job, my life.”

What can our readers look forward to from your guest posts on our BTHOUGHTFUL blog?

“Adventure, nature, and mindful living.”

Meet Blogger Emma

Emma

“Hi, I’m Emma – a meditation lover with a passion for finding and sharing thoughtful and intelligent ideas for living well. I’m inspired by culture, the arts, psychology and mindfulness and write about it all at emmamillslondon.com.”

How would you describe your blog?

“Everything you need to know about mindful living for modern life. I’m inspired by the arts, psychology and mindfulness. Many of my blog posts feature beautiful poetry and music as well as simple, step by step guides and meditations for bringing inner peace into each corner of your day.”

What does living thoughtfully mean to you?

“When I write my posts, I do so thoughtfully – I don’t rush. I treat it as though it is the most important thing for me to be doing at that moment. I do it with consideration and in the knowing that I am making my features for others who will enjoy it – and I want to do the best I can.”

What is it about blogging that you love?

“I love sharing things with people. I travel around with a bag full of books (many bibliophiles will relate to me on that one). I also like being connected with like-minded people. Running my blog is a great way to connect with others who share your interests in life.”

What can our readers look forward to from your guest posts on our BTHOUGHTFUL blog?

“Reflections on happiness, inner peace and creativity. And interesting ways to bring mindful living into your daily life.”

Meet Blogger Aimee

Aimee

“Hi I’m Aimee, the blogger behind Wallflower Girl. I’m a twenty-something living in leafy Surrey, with my pet King Charles Spaniel, Molly. When I’m not cooking, baking or blogging, I like to immerse myself in crafts, play the piano, go for long country walks and practise photography.”

How would you describe your blog?

“Wallflower Girl is where I share my recipes, focusing on plant-based food, often healthy with the occasional treats. Whether you’re vegan, on a diet, going gluten-free or just looking to eat healthier, there is a recipe for you. Occasionally, I also like to share some craft, DIY and floral projects on my blog. I’m a real homebody and love everything homemade.”

What does living thoughtfully mean to you?

“For me, living thoughtfully means being mindful.”

Why did you get into blogging and what is it about it you love?

“I started my blog 3 years ago as a place to share and document my favourite personal recipes. The thing I love most about blogging is the creative outlet it provides.”

What can our readers look forward to from your guest posts on our BTHOUGHTFUL blog?

“Recipes that are delicious, different, better for you and better for the earth. There’ll be a mixture of sweet and savoury dishes, celebrating whole, fresh and in-season foods.”

Aimee

Meet Blogger Wendy

Wendy

“I’m Wendy. I’m in my mid-thirties and live in a small village outside of Edinburgh with my other half and our young daughter. After studying sustainability at university, I’ve been working in the environmental sector – promoting cycling – for ten years now. I blog at Moral Fibres in my spare time.”

How would you describe your blog?

“Moral Fibres is about all things ‘green’ – from ethical fashion, to eco-friendly interiors, in season recipes, eco-friendly health and beauty, and much more. After working in the environmental sector for so long I have heard every misconception possible about green living. I wanted to prove that isn’t all about socks and sandals.”

What does living thoughtfully mean to you?

“To me living thoughtfully is about trying to tread lightly, and leading a slow life. From avoiding trends and trying to buy things that last. To using seasonal produce, and enjoying the best the UK has to offer. Living thoughtfully has the added bonus of saving money too!”

Why did you get into blogging?

“I started blogging as I wanted somewhere to write and share some photography. Over time, I realised I wanted a blog with more purpose. Somewhere where I could share some of my knowledge and interest in all things green. And hopefully inspire others to live greener lives without being preachy about it.”

What can our readers look forward to from your guest posts?

“I’m hoping to bring readers useful posts about living thoughtfully and sustainably, with no socks and sandals in sight – promise!”

Meet Lori
Hi I’m Lori, I’m a 34 year old mama with a passion for design and style. After graduating from university with a BA (hons) degree in Graphic design, I moved to London and spent many years working in the creative industries, such as prop styling for fashion magazines, set design, and working in PR and Marketing for a large arts publishing company. I met my then boyfriend, now husband, in a bookshop and after living in London for four years we packed up and moved sticks to the South West, where we now live with our 4 year old boy called F. Cosied up in the heart of Bristol we spend our time hanging out, drinking coffee and enjoying all the city has to offer.

How would you describe your blog?

Wild & Grizzly is a UK lifestyle blog where mama meets cool. It’s inspired by design, travel, interiors and style, while exploring the wilds of motherhood.

What does living thoughtfully mean to you?

Living thoughtfully is something we try to do in our every day lives, for us it’s about making better choices and appreciating the little things by practising mindfulness, taking a minute to enjoy that first sip of coffee or relaxing in a good book. We try to eat clean and shy away from processed foods, instead making sauces from scratch and creating delicious recipes at home and we’re loving the Deliciously Ella recipe book at the moment. Our home is our sanctury so we aim to fill it with well thought out pieces, upcycling where possible and supporting independent designers over high street stores.

Why did you get into blogging and what is it about it you love?

I first started blogging about two years ago, when F was only two. I found as a mama it was easy to get lost in a sea of baby talk when at the coffee shops and parks, and after a late miscarriage I needed something else to focus on. I started to miss my creative outlet and craved a space to talk about my love of design, travel, fashion and style and so Wild & Grizzly was born. It’s lovely to reach out and connect with other like minded people.

What can our readers look forward to from your guest posts on our BThoughtful Blog?

I hope to bring my style hunting eye and attention to detail to the BThoughtful blog with my guest posts, whether it’s sharing the best places to find stylish off the beaten track when travelling or simply creating an edgy ubran feel with thoughtful fashion.

Meet Kat
Hi, I’m Kat – Founder of Movement for Modern Life, I’ve been moved by the practice of yoga for 20 years. As a yoga teacher who hasn’t taught much yoga, for a reason I realise that not all yoga teachers are created equally! Movement for Modern Life believes in supporting the very best teachers, so they can help to share their practices which have helped me so much.

How would you describe your business to someone who doesn’t know it?

A website to make movement really easy. It’s for folks who are really busy and can’t get enough time to move mindfully. We make movement easy, so that you can search by the benefit you expect to reap from your movement practice – if you’re stressed, have a bad back or shoulders, have trouble sleeping or want something to energise you? We have something for you! From 5 min classes to full 1.5 hour classes filmed live at the leading studios in London, you name it, we got it.

What does living thoughtfully mean to you?

To me, it means living consciously, so making sure that I am aware that every thing that I do is a choice, is a conscious decision. This goes from eating mindfully, aware of the origin and consequences of the food I am eating, to being conscious of the impact of my choices upon others and the environment and making sure that I am thoughtful of the impact on nature.

Why did you get into it and what is it about it you love?

I founded MFML as I wanted everyone to be able to access my teachers, the most senior teachers in the UK and to be able to move to them, no matter where they live or how much time they had. I love working with yogis, I love being able to impact for the better on people’s lives and I do love being able to work to my timeframe and with the dogs by my side.

What can our readers look forward to from your posts?

I hope to be able to share a little about how to move more at home or when we’re short on time, about why we’ll feel a bit better when we do move a bit more and breathe deeper.

Meet the bloggers: Victoria
Hello I’m Victoria Borondo, textile designer/maker and blogger of found and sewn. I live in a little cottage in the English countryside where I have my studio. My degree in Design Crafts has given me a love for hand crafted objects, all my pieces are handmade with the purpose to produce something beautiful and unique which will be cherished for years to come.

How would you describe your business to someone who doesn’t know it?

My blog is a mix of my love of the countryside, sewing, crafts, interiors, vintage finds, my inspirations and general musings…

I enjoy living a simple life, appreciating the little things; a walk in the countryside, nature, cooking seasonal food, buying things which are made to last. Quality over quantity.

Why did you get into it and what is it about it you love?

I started my blog as a place to share my inspiration, document my sewing, a kind of online sketchbook, plus all the other things I love. It’s a great community to be part of, so many wonderful creative people out there…

What can our readers look forward to from your guest posts on our BThoughtful Blog?

I’m really excited to be sharing a range of ‘makes’ and sewing tutorials with you, from handmade gifts & accessories to items for the home. We can make and share them together.
