The beginning of April cues bluebell season in the UK and soon woodland floors will be transformed into violet wonderlands. We think this is something too pretty to miss – and like Forest Bathing, it's also a great opportunity to take a stroll and reconnect with nature.
If you like the sound of seeing the bluebells in full bloom, read on to discover some of the most beautiful spots in the UK to take in the sights and smells. Just don't forget your camera and binoculars are a great idea too.

Bluebells in England
Bunny Old Wood, Nottinghamshire This nature reserve lies not very far from Nottingham at all (about seven miles south of the city). It's become renowned for its springtime flourish of bluebells, but you'll also be able to spot butterflies, moths, over 50 species of birds and the odd fox. There's a marked nature trail so it’s really easy to find your way around without getting lost.- Dogs on leads are welcome.

Bluebells in Wales
Coed Cefn, Abergavenny Bluebells and brambles thrive under oak and beech tree canopies at Coed Cefn. The area is known locally as Bluebell Wood and adds a historic slant to your stroll – the circular footpath leads to an ancient fort where you can stop to bird spot, rest or simply take in the 400 year old grounds. Wood of Cree, Newton Stewart As the largest area of ancient woodland in Scotland, Wood of Cree is home to vast flourishes of bluebells and protected wildlife including Tawny Owls, Garden Warblers and Willow Tits. The path meanders through trees, past waterfalls and into open views so you’ll have lots of beautiful scenery and photo opportunities to enjoy along the way.- Dogs on leads are welcome; though keep to public paths.
