We're joining the #BringBackOurGirls social media campaign to help create awareness of the recent Nigerian kidnappings and signing the Change.org petition to put pressure on the world’s leaders to act. bring-back-our-girls-braintree-blog More than 300 teenage girls, aged 15-18, were taken from their beds in the middle of the night by anti-education jihadists Boko Haram. The girls were relaxing in their dorms at the Government Girls Secondary School in the northern Nigerian town of Chibok when gunmen arrived in trucks, cars and on motorcycles. After shooting the guards, and setting fire to houses, the terrorists kidnapped nearly 300 of the girls and drove off into the woods. That was on 5th April 2014. The girls haven't been heard from since. And the media, for the most part, has remained largely silent. But now, three weeks later, the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls associated with their disappearance has been tweeted nearly 1 million times. And since that then, celebrities, politicians and world leaders have all joined the call. Find out more info and SIGN THE PETITION here. With Love
