Christmas Soundtrack: Our team pick the playlist

After our annual team outing to London's Winter Wonderland, we’re all feeling a little more festive at Braintree HQ. I thought it would be a good time to get the team's thoughts on a Christmas Playlist for the office so I asked the team to suggest their favourite festive songs. And here they are...

1. Stop the cavalry - Jona Lewie

“I love songs that have a story to tell. This has a poignant undertone with a First World War soldier reminding us that not everyone can make it home for Christmas. It has a great chorus with a fantastic brass band section.” – Mark

2. Nat King Cole - The Christmas Song

“This has always been my Dad’s favourite Christmas song and ever since I first heard it, it was mine too. I love the lyrics – especially the opening line, “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire”. It’s the perfect song for cosy evenings in, or for wrapping presents and writing Christmas cards.” – Jo

3. 2000 Miles – Chrissie Hynde

“A beautiful song about missing loved ones during Christmas time. It casts a wistful atmospheric mood and Chrissy Hynde’s voice is incredible.” – Laura

“I’m a big fan of the Christmas classics. I love the nostalgic, romantic and dreamy feel to the song.” – Emma

“Thought to be the UK’s favourite Christmas song, this seasonal classic makes me feel happy and instantly Christmassy” – Maddi
