We love being based in London but it makes us crave rolling meadows and long walks by the sea. Rachel in particular likes to get back to nature whenever she can - be it a trip to the coast or retreating to and exploring wild open spaces.
So we weren't surprised when she shared the idea of 'Shinrin Yoku' or 'Forest Bathing' with us, something that the Japanese have been doing for decades.
Nothing close to wild swimming (and no swimsuit required), the emphasis of this practice is on the senses. It's about ambling quietly through the forest relaxing, wandering, touching, listening and ultimately, healing.
The secret behind Shinrin Yoku is that one of the natural, healthy bi-products - Phytoncides - that trees expel is great for the immune system.
All you need is a pair of boots, a free afternoon and an open mind.
