Top summer activities: 4 things to do in the UK this summer
Day Trip: The Eden Project
Named the eighth wonder of the world by some, The Eden Project
in Cornwall is a dramatic garden within huge tropical biomes that nestle in a crater the size of 30 football pitches. It’s a real must-visit for summer.
Explore the world’s largest indoor rainforest, with steamy jungles, waterfalls and over 1,000 species of tropical plants. Wander around the Mediterranean Biome, which also houses West Australian and South African Gardens. Marvel at the cutting-edge architecture, sculpture and art. Dine on delicious local, fair-trade food in the restaurants and cafes. And discover nature-inspired, ethical gifts in the Eden gift shop
, including our sustainable womenswear
and much loved bamboo socks
Art Exhibition: Frida Khalo, Making Herself Up
Clothes, jewellery, makeup and a defiantly red-leather-booted prosthetic leg belonging to Frida Kahlo, which were sealed in her house for more than 50 years, are to be shown at the V&A Museum
in London, the first time they will have been seen outside Mexico.
Experience a fresh perspective on Khalo’s compelling life story through her most intimate personal belongings.
June until 4th
Country break: The Cotswolds
Known for its idyllic, quintessentially English rural scenery, the Cotswolds is an exquisite area of pretty limestone buildings, dating back to medieval times. Its gentle hillsides or ‘wolds’ as they’re known, and sleepy villages are the perfect setting for a country break this summer.
The Cotswolds is great for family holidays, romantic getaways or weekends with friends – whether you want to explore historic attractions and beautiful gardens, indulge in quality, local produce, lace up your walking boots and get out in the countryside, discover dreamy properties or simply sit in a good old English pub.

Beach: Scolt Head, Norfolk
Scolt Head is an offshore island, between Wells-next-the-sea and Brancaster. It’s not easy to reach, but that’s all part of the charm. The best way to access the island is by taking a ferry from Burnham Overy Staithe. Once you’re there, head down to the sandy dunes for a picnic, grab your binoculars for some birdwatching (the island is a protected conservation area) or comb the beach for some seashells. And if you fancy it, why not visit our stockist Lime Green in the nearby town, Burnham Market?
