Meet the team

Rachel, our Creative Director, gleans inspiration from all around her. It could be from the Australian lifestyle blogs she scrolls through. A few instagram snaps. Or a moment of stillness and people watching. Rachel loves having the opportunity to see what real men and women are wearing. This directly inspires the effortless pieces she designs with the team.

Like us all, Rachel values her rare moments of downtime. She loves pedalling around London on her bike. Or when there's time to go a little further, breathing in sea air and enjoying some perspective.

Laura grew up in a family with a fashion history. So she naturally gravitated to doing something similar. We met her when she was spending most of her time painting. And before long, she was fundamentally involved in the design for our collection.

Laura's eternal love of art, pattern and colour means she's often exploring London's exhibitions and museums. Though, as a Buddhist, she does like to balance vibrancy of city live with the calm of the country. Her rural retreat in Somerset gives her a constant oasis as well as a constant source of inspiration. It's not unusual for her to work on her little house. Or perhaps transforming her garden's harvest of apples into a delicious, sweet sauce.

Mark has always been really interested in art and style. His intrinsic love for sketching and doodling led him to study a course, then get into the industry. And soon enough, led Mark to us.

Mark's personal vintage shirt collection constantly inspires our menswear. And his eclectic taste in music keeps the office tunes fresh. In our design studio, Mark's days are never the same. His could be choosing colour palettes. Refining our clothing's fit with Rachel. Or sketching a new print.

Outside of work, Mark likes to make the most London's art galleries and museums. His favourite is The V & A. "It's an amazing treasure house", he says. If he's not checking out a new exhibition? You'll most likely find Mark on a long countryside stroll with Biscuit and Tuppence; his adorable dogs.

Elaine always knew she wanted to be a designer. Especially when her grandmother taught her to sew.

Fast-forward to today and Elaine is endlessly inspiring in her work. She finds inspiration everywhere - including in her own captivating vintage archive. It's not unusual for us to dip into her collection too. Say to inspire something for our own collection, or just for a peek.

When not with us at Thought HQ, Elaine is exploring. Sourcing new additions to her archive. Writing novels. Upcycling old furniture. Cooking for friends. Or out on a long walk with Jeff - her much-loved Labrador.
