Post Yoga Class Tips From Harriet Allmark
Yoga is a gentle, restorative way to improve posture, balance and find a sense of inner peace and body alignment. Starting the day focusing on the breath combined with some light movement can help to set a positive tone for the rest of the day. We asked Harriet to share with us some of her tips for getting the most out of the yoga experience, during and after the class.
Invest in a Good Yoga Mat
Harriet's favourite brand of yoga mat is Yogamatters. These mats are incredible for the environment, and innovative in their design. Made from a unique combination of EVA foam and pond algae, these mats take algae that will otherwise affect climate change and use them for a positive purpose. Free from all toxins and dyes, these mats are also lightweight and portable, with a soft cushioning.
Relax your Mind with an Inspiring Book
One of Harriet's favourite books is 'Yoga Mind, Body and Spirit' by Donna Farhi. This is the first book Harriet read when doing her teacher training course, and she still refers back to it over and over again. One of the amazing things about this book is it offers a great introduction to not only the movement principles of yoga but also some of the underlying philosophies of the practice.
