The Thought: We’re celebrating World Kindness Day, because it’s time to choose kindness. For yourself, for each other, and for the planet. The theme of World Kindness Day 2022 is ‘be kind whenever possible’, it’s all about those simple, small, sometimes random acts of kindness.
The Feeling: Doing good can feel really good, and when doing good feels good we tend to do it more often! So let’s normalise kindness every day in every way, and make positive change. The Acts of Kindness:
- Call a friend that you haven't spoken to for a while
- Send a letter to a grandparent
- Send flowers to a friend for no reason
- Offer to pick up groceries for your elderly neighbour
- Send someone a handwritten note
- Offer to babysit for a friend, or walk their dog
- Tell your family members how much you love and appreciate them
- Help a friend get active if they're finding it hard
- Make someone laugh (or laugh at someone's joke)
- Offer to cook or simply make a cup of tea
- Tell someone you are proud of them
- Tell someone you are thankful for them
- Send a motivational text to a friend who is struggling
- Send someone a picture of a cute animal
- Share an interesting article and spark thoughtful conversations
- Contact someone you haven't seen in a while and arrange to meet face to face
- Engage in conversation with a shop assistant when paying at the till
- Sign up to do voluntary work in your local community
- Reach out to spend time with a friend or family member. We all get lonely sometimes
- Have a clear out and take items to a charity shop, or make a donation
