The Thought: We’re celebrating World Kindness Day, because it’s time to choose kindness. For yourself, for each other, and for the planet. The theme of World Kindness Day 2022 is ‘be kind whenever possible’, it’s all about those simple, small, sometimes random acts of kindness. 
 
The Feeling:
Doing good can feel really good, and when doing good feels good we tend to do it more often! So let’s normalise kindness every day in every way, and make positive change. Here are our top tips for random acts of kindness we can all engage in. Once you start, you might not be able to stop...

The Acts of Kindness:

  1. Call a friend that you haven't spoken to for a while
  2. Send a letter to a grandparent
  3. Send flowers to a friend for no reason
  4. Offer to pick up groceries for your elderly neighbour
  5. Send someone a handwritten note
  6. Offer to babysit for a friend, or walk their dog
  7. Tell your family members how much you love and appreciate them
  8. Help a friend get active if they're finding it hard
  9. Make someone laugh (or laugh at someone's joke)
  10. Offer to cook or simply make a cup of tea
  11. Tell someone you are proud of them
  12. Tell someone you are thankful for them
  13. Send a motivational text to a friend who is struggling
  14. Send someone a picture of a cute animal
  15. Share an interesting article and spark thoughtful conversations
  16. Contact someone you haven't seen in a while and arrange to meet face to face
  17. Engage in conversation with a shop assistant when paying at the till
  18. Sign up to do voluntary work in your local community
  19. Reach out to spend time with a friend or family member. We all get lonely sometimes
  20. Have a clear out and take items to a charity shop, or make a donation
  21. Send a care package to someone who needs it
  22. Lend your ear and listen
  23. Say good morning to a stranger, and offer a smile
  24. Bake a cake for your colleagues
  25. Take someone out for lunch instead of eating at your desk
  26. Give up your seat to an elderly, disabled or pregnant person
  27. Let someone jump the queue at the supermarket
  28. Take a minute to help someone who is lost
  29. Have a conversation with someone experiencing homelessness
  30. Help a mother carrying her push chair down the stairs or hold the door for her
  31. Let a fellow driver merge into your lane
  32. Pick up some rubbish on the street
