One of the many things we love about Grace & Skye is how they make beautiful, natural food using ingredients they have grown at home in their garden. We asked this brilliant pair to show us how to cut down on food waste by using up bits and pieces in the fridge. Read on as Grace & Skye give us the steps to making a vegan scrap pesto using nothing but leftovers.
Tear up 3-4 slices of bread and pop it into the blender.
Grab a bunch of basil and rip loosely rip it up and add it to the blender.
Squeeze the juice from one lemon and grate the zest into the mixture.
Toss in a generous handful of pine nuts
Add a clove of garlic
Drizzle olive oil over the top
Give it a quick blend and add a sprinkle of salt!
Give it one final whizz in the blender.
Spoon your pesto into some airtight jars and enjoy!
