treat your stains
to be in with the best chance of removing stains from your clothing completely, treat them as early as you can. using a mix of vinegar and baking soda works. simply pour some white vinegar on the stain before popping the garment it in the washing machine. if you have a piece of white clothing that has a stain, did you know you can leave it out in the sun for a few hours and the stain will fade?
choose the right water temperature
it's best to use warm water when washing clothes. warm water allows for an efficient clean without risk of shrinking, wrinkling and fading.
take your washing out of the machine as soon as possible
if you leave your pieces in the machine for too long, they will lose their just-washed fresh scent.
Air dry after washing
hang your clothes out to dry, either on a clothes horse or outside on a warm day. a tumble dryer uses approximately 4.5 kWh energy on each cycle.
