Thoughtful Fashion week: a kinder catwalk

One of the world’s biggest fashion events, London Fashion Week - (Friday 17 February to Tuesday 21 February) has just taken place and, with a nod to it, we thought we’d share some new-season Thought pieces we think are catwalk-worthy while at the same time being sustainable and wholly earth-kind.

What is London Fashion Week?

London Fashion Week (LFW) takes place 3 times this year (again in June and September) and features numerous events around the Capital, from catwalk shows to films, talks, previews and  more. Historically, the event has been designed to showcase new collections and highlight key trends in fashion as well as to raise important conversations around it.

Brands such as Burberry will be participating - one business which has been taking sustainability seriously over the past few years, moving to reusable and recyclable packaging, cutting market-based emissions and becoming carbon neutral.

Here at Thought we really welcome any initiatives around sustainability in manufacturing and production, and hope to see LFW shine a positive spotlight on kinder fashion all round.

Thoughtful looks

As for Thought, we’ve had sustainability in our DNA since we started back in 1995. All our designs are in natural, eco-friendly fabrics like bamboo, hemp and organic cotton. Our packaging is plastic-free (and did you know we only use vegan glue?).

In addition, we acknowledge our responsibility to those who work for us, and we’re always trying to improve: we want to be even better tomorrow than we are today.

Our catwalk pieces

We don’t actually have a catwalk at LFW, but, if we did, we’ve got a pretty good idea of what our star pieces would be. It wasn’t easy to choose, of course, but here’s our shortlist…

The dress: Marian wrap dress

Made from 100% lenzing™ ecovero™ - created from renewable wood, this catwalk worthy dress features a hand-painted watercolour spot-print which is a unique Thought design. Wear it, love it.
