SS18 Blogger Style Favourites: our new season styling tips

Haruka Cardigan

In a super soft organic cotton knitted fabric, The Haruka Cardi is one of our most loved items from Spring 18 and was a must-have for nature lover Jessica and activist Mel, who calls it the ‘cardigan of dreams’ – pretty accurate if you ask us. This versatile cardi features a stab-stitch design, inspired by ancient Japanese techniques, making it beautifully unique. In Jessica’s blog post, ‘When Thoughts Turn To Spring’, she notes that she’d call it more of a ‘coatigan’ than a cardigan, adding that it’s great for layering in spring or summer. We think it’s perfect for wearing over a pop of colour – maybe red or yellow – and your favourite blue jeans for a stylish weekend look. And why not add a headscarf or tassel earrings for some extra zing?

Elaine Jacket

Introducing our very first denim jacket – and this one’s a beauty. It’s crafted from our signature organic cotton stretch denim, featuring panel detailing and a unique dropped hem at the back. It’s a firm team favourite, and much loved by vegan blogger Aine, who plans to layer it over her Campbell striped tee. We think it’s so versatile and can be worn with any outfit. Wear it over your favourite dress for a cool summer look, or pair with wide leg trousers and a striped top for a casual weekend style. I’ll be buying mine a couple of sizes too big, for an over-sized look – and pairing it with a colourful top, culottes and trainers!

Campbell Tee

The Campbell Tee: simple, classic, available in three easy-to-wear colours, and a sure winner for Aine and Mel. If you’re a fan of the classic Breton striped tee, you’re going to love our updated version. Notice the smaller details too, like its casual dropped shoulders and subtle button detailing at the side seams. And what about styling? Tuck it into some paper bag waist trousers or style it more casually with your favourite jeans and trainers. Easy!

Morgana Tunic

The Morgana Tunic is a favourite of Natalie’s. Why? Because she’s expecting! And this tunic (along with much of our collection) is easily wearable with a baby bump. Maternity clothing isn’t something that we talk about much, but our pieces are certainly versatile for mums-to-be. Look for oversized pieces, stretchy fabrics, adjustable or wide waistbands (like on our loungewear slacks) or any items with an open front (like our wraps and cardigans). The Morgana Tunic has a colourful knitted organic cotton top, with a loose bamboo layer cascading underneath. Pair it over your favourite jeans with ballerina pumps for a comfortable, feminine look.

Blake Trousers

Our simple, Blake Trousers are crafted from a blend of modal and bamboo making them luxuriously soft to touch. Slow living enthusiast Olivia, says they’re ‘super comfortable and flattering’ and on her recent visit to Thought HQ, wore them with a classic, slim fitting, Breton stripe top. The Blake Trousers feature practical pockets, a tied paper bag waist and are available in two toned-down hues. We’d pair them with a pop of colour on top or even a bold print!

Elaine Dress

Since you loved our previous denim pinafore dresses so much, we’ve reinvented this signature style again for SS18. This time the organic cotton Elaine Dress comes in a flattering new shape, falling at the knee, with a middle band at the waist, practical pockets, and higher neck. We are so excited to see the it on ethical enthusiast Emily, who is soon to be sharing a post on her blog! Layer this trans-seasonal piece over a tee or wear with a long sleeved top and tights for cooler weather.
