Fashion Stylist: Holly’s Seven Sustainable Summer Styles
“This is my first look, purely because I love these trousers. They’re an amazing, white wide leg, with pleat detailing, pockets, and are made from hemp. I really love them! They’re perfect for any occasion, whether you’re dressing them up to go out, or down for work. I’d wear them with a simple tank top because the trousers speak for themselves. Thought craft these vests in a range of colours, but this one’s a really beautiful dull grey. I’d pair this outfit with lots of bangles.”
“This shirt dress is number two on my list. It’s perfect for summer, dressed up or dressed down. I’d wear it with some simple Veja pumps, roll up the sleeves, add some bangles, some layered necklaces and really get creative – it’s a great wardrobe staple. And the best thing about this dress is that it’s made from Tencel Chambray, which is a fully biodegradable, ethical fabric so you can feel good about wearing it.”
Looks Three & Four
“This is more of an outfit combination – these Meena trousers are made from the same fabric as the shirt dress from look two. These wonderful wide leg trousers can be paired with anything. I really love the button detailing at the pockets and the fact that they’re high waist. These Tanami culottes are slightly different – they’ve got an elasticated waist at the back, and are comfortable and casual workwear trousers. I’d pair both of these with Thought’s brilliant Savita tank top, and this one’s in a pebble grey stripe. I really like it – it’s a unique take on a nautical stripe design.”
“Number five on my summer list would have to be these Meena shorts which again, come in the same material as the chambray pieces from the previous looks. I love the fact that they’ve got a bow-tie waist, which helps nip everything in – this would be flattering on everybody. They’ve also got pockets and a lovely pleating detail. I’d pair these with the Savita vest, this time in the Lagoon Blue – I think this top is just really fun for summer. I’d buy one in both colours to be honest, and they wear them with lots of different things!”
“Look six has got a lot more colour to it. These stunning, cropped Kiku trousers have pleating at the front and can be paired with anything. But if you want to be adventurous, then wear them with the matching top. I love the pleat detailing down the middle of the top, which makes everything more elongated. I’d wear these items with pumps, but you could also go for summery, open-toe sandals!”
“Look seven is another of my favourites. This Irvette skirt comes in a beautiful organic cotton lace fabric, in a chic midi-length. It’s very flattering because of the elasticated waistband, which helps keep everything in. I’d pair this skirt with another of Thought’s simple vest tops. This vest comes in a really flattering blush colour, which will suit every skin tone. I’d wear this outfit with a pair of sandals if I was going abroad, and again you can layer some jewellery over it to really make it feel your own. I really like this one.”
